Jaguar / Harrods

Studio Moritz Waldemeyer took part in the Wallpaper* Handmade exhibition which made its London debut in the famous Brompton Road windows of Harrods,  in collaboration with iconic British car manufacturer Jaguar. The Wallpaper* Handmade exhibition is dedicated to the marriage of craftsmanship and design, in this edition with a focus on light.

The four lampshade forms revolve and intersect like gear wheels and are mounted on rotating tubes, which in turn are punctuated by three-dimensional lines; honed to perfection.

Inspired by light and motion the installation uses thousands of LED lights to convey Moritz’ admiration of the clean aesthetic and linear purity of luxury automobiles. Taking inspiration from his passion in cars,  Moritz has incorporated core elements of automobile design, paying homage to what he describes as the ‘forgotten beauty of a mechanical core’.
