When Camron PR were looking for an innovative Christmas card they commissioned me to create an original light painting in front of a London landmark. Inspired by the London Olympics 2012 I teamed up with one of the UK’s top gymnasts: Hasit Savani who performed with our newly developed full colour LED sword at various locations along the South Bank.

This project is an evolution of a chain of performance, discount film and photography experiments that all involve the usage of specially designed LED objects to trace the motion of a performer. Starting from the ancient Chinese martial art of Wushu, we have now developed the world’s most high tech LED sword capable of producing full colour light traces with high speed refresh rates.

Using the persistance of vision of the human eye, the LED swords can produce surprising visual magic in live performances and create stunning traces in video and photography. We are planning to continue the development of this technique to push the envelope of these visual effects.
